The neighbourhood

The Friesenplatz and the area around it count among the most popular amusement districts of Cologne. Well connected to the subway network the Friesenviertel is an ideal starting point for happy party nights in the cathedral city. Lively bars, restaurants and pubs: There’s always something going on at the All Bar One, the Päff , Heising & Adelmann or the trendy Goldfinger. Both the Goldfinger and the nearby Hemingway lure guests with free admission. Free of posh attitude the retro-chic of the "golden age" is celebrated here.

The ring bar is a winner when it comes to excellent cocktails and an exuberant party mood. Guests are dancing all night long to mainstream chart hits, current house favorites and dance classics in the in-house basement club at Friesenwall. If you like it chic and hip, you might want to check out Flamingo Royal which follows American patterns. Here the dancers are favoring vocal house, pop and r'n'b. The Ivory Lounge is one of the hottest clubs in town. Their stylish LED light installations and video projections sometimes even lure international stars on the dance floor.

The gay district of Cologne is not far from Friesenviertel - to be exact, it’s only one subway station away. Nearby Rudolfplatz you will find Schaafenstraße, Cologne's most popular gay area with pubs and bars such as Ex-Corner, Mumu, Ix-bar or Exile on Main Street. It’s always party time in the evening and on weekends the heat is on here. No wonder the area is nicknamed "Bermuda Triangle" by locals. Approximately 650 meters from the guest apartment there’s the “Bathhouse”, Cologne's most popular gay sauna.
